Red Hot Chili Peppers in Concert

I went to a RHCP concert on Halloween night in Cleveland for their Stadium Arcadium tour.

Concert Review

They played music from a mixture of all their albums, from their newest release Stadium Arcadium they played, “Readymade”, “Snow”, “Tell Me Baby”, to their biggest single from the album Dani California.

From the album Californication (1999) they played “Scar Tissue,” “Otherside,” and “Californication.” From my favorite album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991), they played “I could've lied,” “Give it away,” and “Suck my kiss.” In my opinion, the best song that they play was their remake of the song “Higher Ground” originally by Stevie Wonder.

Their opening act for the Stadium Arcadium tour was The Mars Volta. They played a half hour
set, overall their performance was a disappointment. I, along with other members of the audience thought that it was more of a long jam session than a performance. I did however enjoy their two CDs, De-loused in the Comatourium (2003) and Frances the Mute (2005).

The atmosphere of the concert was full of energy and craziness. Everyone was in a special halloween fun-loving mood. Many concert-goers were in Halloween costumes or in Chili pepper apparel. Chad Smith (drummer) was dressed as the main character of Talladega nights and Flea (bassist) was dressed as the wicked witch of the west, green-striped tights and all.

I really enjoyed the concert because they played a mix of all of their albums and I thought the concert had great energy.
